Dallas Video Production FAQs #14
Why should I have video on my website?
First of all, the question should be “why shouldn’t I have a video on my website?” not the other way around. Web videos accomplish everything that you want your website to convey. Videos sell and educate the material that is given. In doing so, they establish your company as professional and create sales.
They grab the viewer’s attention from the get go and keep them interested in what is being conveyed. Watching a video will increase the recall rate of your viewers as well as help them navigate through your site. You do not want the visitor thinking “where the hell am I?” or “what site am I even on?”. Give the people what they want and give it to them fast. Do not linger around and wonder what their next action will be.
Put all of the right information into the web video and leave them craving more. Keep it short and sweet. Do not put any prolonged and boring “Bueller” material in the mix. Enrich the web video with content that will amaze the viewer. The material will not only educate the viewer about your company, but will give them that “inside knowledge” that everyone is out to find. The video is supposed to convert visitors to customers and if executed correctly, the video will do just that. Apply a video on the homepage and you will have yourself a gold mine.

Great stuff! You Guys Rock!
It’s amazing how well videos do. I’d prefer to watch a video as opposed to reading. Keep up the good work. Great blog.
Hi Ana, this one slipped by me, sorry I did not reply ealreir. The recordings are all saved into a subdirectory of moddata in the moodle data directory. They can be graded just like any standard moodle assignment. On the page on which the teacher grades and gives feedback, there is an audio or video player. Using this the teacher can check the students recording.
Yep. I keep reading how important video is nowadays for any kind of online marketing. Good blog. Thanks!
Videos are a big deal now. Definitely interesting read. Thanks for the post. Keep up the good work!
I’ve been thinking about replacing a lot of my materials with video. It seems like the right thing to do.
