Why Followers are “Unliking” or “Unfollowing” Your Brand
Ever notice someone decided to not follow your page anymore on either Facebook or Twitter? Maybe it was one person, or two, or many more to follow. What could you be doing wrong? Apparently, many things. There are a few main reasons why your followers are not your followers anymore. First of all, stop blowing up their newsfeed. No one wants to see a post from you every second.
You are cluttering their social networking site which is not what they intended. Be subtle with your posts. It is not necessary to announce your presence in the social media world with overkill. After you have cut back your posts, be sure the content is sufficient and entertaining. Think about it. Who is really going to read a two page post? Spice it up, make it fun and edgy, and maybe throw some sarcasm in there. Use your dog or your kid to jazz it up a little. Make sure your posts are not too promotional to avoid gaining a reputation of having a “big head”. Another way to lose a follower is to offer only one deal. Give your audience something to work with. You have to buy people’s affection, so give them some promotional deals or offers. That will keep them coming back for more, even the cheapos.

Ahh. Thanks for clearing that up. There is such a thing as too much with social media.
Great post. Thanks for posting this! You are right, I hate it when my newsfeed blows up. Will definitely be taking your advice.
An impressive share, I just gave this to a colleague who was doing a little analysis on this. And he in fact bought me breakfast as a result of me finding it for him.. smile. So let me reword that: Thnx for the treat! Thnkx for spending the time to debate this, I really feel strongly about it and love studying on this topic. As you develop into expertise, would you mind updating your weblog with extra particulars? It’s extremely helpful for me. Huge thumb up for this weblog post!
I totally agree! Those companies who fill up my newsfeed with crap are booted out the door and off my FB in no time.
I have trouble understanding using Facebook for business. The few companies I follow aren’t very active, which also makes me feel like it’s not worth “liking” them.
Great article here.
